Before I start writing about my trip to Thailand, I wanted to quick take the time to tell you all about my first official race that I ran in. Every year, Port Washington has what they call, Fish Day...not Fish Days, like the 'out of towners' like to call it, 'Fish Day', just one day. It's actually the 'World's largest One Day Outdoor Fish Fry'. I know, quite the title huh?! Anyway, Port Fish Day holds a multiple of different activities. Some of those include, a car show, a huge parade, arts and crafts sale, carnival games, and of course the race in the morning that starts the whole day off. So, 8:30 in the morning on the 15th of July, there I was with Evan and his brothers and their wives preparing to run my first official race on quite possibly the hottest day of the summer in Southeastern Wisconsin. If I remember right, it was 90 degrees by 9am, crazy hot! And, believe me, I definitley tried to find every excuse not to have to run in that nasty heat and humidity! But, I did it! A whole two miles! Did I run the whole thing? Heck no! Who am I kidding?! But, I did finish it, in 25 minutes and 48 seconds! Go me! Here's some more pictures for your viewing pleasure!
Evan, finishing up on his 5 mile run!
Just before the race, do I look nervous? Cuz I was...lots and lots!
